Buckwheat Waffles with Fruit Compote (and powdered sugar!)

Did you know fruit compote is one of the easiest things in the world to make?

For bonus points, it’s so pretty, too!

The fruit compote recipe goes like this:

You put some frozen berries in a pan on the stove,
heat it up,
mix some potato starch (or other thickener) in as much water as you want sauce,
add it to the simmering berries,
and wait for everything to thaw and thicken up!

OK, so you may need to stir the sauce as it cooks. But still. Ridiculously easy in comparison to how much your taste buds will be rejoicing.

As yummy as it looked!

The recipe for the Buckwheat Waffles I got here.

Let’s be real, buckwheat waffle recipes are a-dime-a-dozen. This is just showing you how pretty they can look with easy-peasy-pumpkin-squeezy fruit compote on top of them.
